The Astronomers Monument in a romance
My son recently told me he'd seen a movie in which a young woman (he described her character as a 'nerdy-girl') tries to impress her boyfriend (or date) by naming the astronomers on the Astronomers Monument (in front of the Griffith Observatory in L.A.) and the sculptors who sculpted them. Anyone know what movie this is? He said it's a young-person's romance type film, and that he saw it relatively recently on Netflix or the like... so probably more or less main-stream. My father was the designer, and one of the sculptors on the monument, and so of course I'm interested in knowing the name of the movie...
    Help me if you can!
    Thanks
    Jeff

    Your father was Archibald Garner?

It would help if you can tell us any of the actors' names, or the plot of the movie.

My son thinks it might be A Walk to Remember or maybe Nothing in Los Angeles (but I couldn't find proof for either as I Googled).

Wondergirl - while I was searching around for the movie, I saw this exact question on another site - and an answer was given as Nothing in Los Angeles... the Griffith Park Observatory is listed as a filming site for that movie, so perhaps that is the one! Hopefully the op will return to let us know. I was also thinking, if this was originally watched on Netflix, isn't there a listing or something the viewer can access to see recently watched films? Just a thought...

ali, my son has a Netflix subscription, but he's at work now. Will ask him that when he comes home. He's autistic with a photographic memory and remembers a discussion on astronomy in the Walk movie.

Yes, maybe the OP can review on Netflix, or those titles will jog his memory as to which one it might have been.

A photographic memory is a handy thing! I looked up A Walk to Remember, the filming locations are all in North Carolina, so I'm thinking it is probably Nothing in Los Angeles... (I was meaning that maybe the op could review the Netflix info, or ask his son to (I believe it was his son that saw the movie?))
