Hello, Yesterday I filed my 1040NR along with form 8843. With form 8843 I checked off the wrong box on line 12, - Yes - but should have checked off No instead because I have been in the US for only 120 days and not more than 5 years.

Thus these are my questions:

1) Will this effect my getting my refund

2) Should I sent a amended 8843 with the correct information with a cover letter

3) Should I file a 1040NR X with a amended Form 8843

4) Do nothing and wait to get a letter about the discrepancy

Send in a corrected Form 8843; no letter is needed.
