I finished my last period about three weeks ago. I started going on the anti-contraceptive pill about two and a half weeks ago after a two-month break. I had intercourse two weeks ago without using a condom, only having been on the pill for five days. About a week ago I started experiencing a 'light period' - no cramps, just some brownish reddish stains and a slight pinkish colour when I wiped. It stopped yesterday; I will take a pregnancy test on Sunday as it would have been two weeks after intercourse, but I am pretty anxious as I am only 19 and not really sure what the signs mean. Can the bleeding be merely a side effect of the pill?

Yes it could be.. as pills disturb your menstrual cycle and can cause bleeding! But I can't say for sure.. so its better you get it checked! But don't worry... it must be the pills !1

You take a pregnancy test two weeks after your period is late... not two weeks after intercourse.

You tested way, way too early. For now, all you can do, is wait to see if period comes.

At 5 days, the birth control pill would not have been in effect, so it was sex without any protection at all. So pregnancy is very possible.

You need to be two week late for your period to test.

At this point even a blood test is going to show a negative even if you are... its simply too soon for either type of test.
