Will pink color hold in bleached hair?
I'm confused. My hair is naturally dark brown, but permanantly/salon bleached blonde. I decided I wanted bright pink highlights a few months ago, and had the salon do them. They faded after a couple of days though! When I went back to the salon, they told me that color (pink) needs color to adhere to and since my hair is bleached it won't work. The hair dye bottles say to bleach your hair before using though... I bought Manic Panic pink and another brand to try myself - is there anything I can use or do to make the pink stay?

Thank you for any help you can give me :)

Pink color should hold to bleached hair. I'm not an expert by any means, but it seems like the hair color the salon used to give you the pink highlights was not permanent. Also, you could try Manic Panic, but I once did this too, and because it's not permanent, it only stayed in my hair until the next time I washed it. My hair is naturally dark brown so I bought a bleaching kit at my local Sally Beauty Supply and bleached streaks into my hair. I then bought purple Manic Panic and used on the bleached streaks. As I said, it came out the next time I washed my hair. I believe there are semi-permanent hair colors that will hold longer than that. You should try those. I hope this helped out. Good luck :)

If you want color to hold on bleached hair, it needs a filler first (that's the something the color needs "to hold on to" (like a primer coat of paint). Have a professional colorist do it.
