I recently brought my laptop to get fixed because at the startup it kept asking me to pick how to start windows and no matter what I chose, a blue screen came up and then the comp restarted. They said that it was a hard drive problem and that I need a new one. What I'm worried about most though, is that all the info, which is really important, where will it go? Can it be saved? Maybe you need more info, but what are the chances that my hard drive data can be saved? (all the info is there in the hard drive right?)

Perhaps, Windows could just be damaged also. If you can determine the manufacturer of the drive and also possibly the laptop, they will have a diagnostic utility in the tech support section of their web site you can use to check the drive. However, if the data on the drive is really, really important do not do anything else with the computer. Shut it down and see below...

If the drive has malfunctioned, your info is gone. Well, almost... Google "data recovery" for companies that can pull data off dead drives. Not cheap though.

You might also Google "backup solutions" to avoid being in this situation again. Hard drives are cheap enough that there is no reason not to have a backup copy of your important files on an external hard drive or other device. All drives have a finite life.

You could buy an adapter that converts the 2.5 inch notebook drive to a usb drive. Plug it into another PC, and you should be able to view the notebook drive as if it was an external usb storage device. Then backup all your necessary data, assuming that the drive is NOT totally corrupted.
