OK, I pulled the distibutor off to get at the heater hose, then I go to put the distributor back on and now it won't start what could I have mixed up that I did not notice?

OK, I pulled the distibutor off to get at the heater hose, then I go to put the distributor back on and now it won't start what could I have mixed up that I did not notice?
Guesses:
. You disturbed the main ECM ground on the thermostat housing--check, clean, and spray with WD-40.
. You did not disconnect the negative battery terminal and you shorted something out.
. You have the timing too retarded or advanced, having not marked the distributor before removal.
The firing order. Also check connectors for bent pins inside them. It's kind of hard to screw something up doing what you did. Also check and make sure distributor is flush with head.
