    Induction motor rotating backwards
    I just replaced the induction motor on my carrier 8000 with a carrier oem p/n 318984-753 and the induction motor is now running reverse rotation... any ideas?

    Could you have accidentally reversed the wiring?

    Two wire 120vac single phase. Hot on top neutral on the bottom. Thought the same so I reversed the wiring and still same rotation.

    Reversing the not and neutral will not cause a motor to run backwards. Buying the wrong part might do it. Double check your part number and call HVAC Service & Support | Carrier – Home Comfort
