So the council pays the rent and council tax due to my dads ill health. My brother is still in full time education, but I was wondering can I work full time without them reductioning any of the rent? Or is there a set number of hours you can work a week?

Any question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area. But you really need to go to the council and ask. We have no idea what their rules are.

I'm guessing this is in the UK.

If they handle it like they do in Italy... rent is structured based on the income of the residents of that unit. Meaning if you work full time... you have an income and that will be factored into it.

But as ScottGem states... where is this at (usually to the city level) as there is no one universal rule that applies everywhere.

There are probably other factors than just amount earned and hours worked. You are 19, and might not even be allowed to live there at all unless you are listed as the caregiver. I'm not saying that's true where you live, just that honesty is ALWAYS the best policy. Go to the council and politely express a desire to work, and ask for what will happen. Ask for a copy of the written rules.

Who is on the tenancy agreement and the recipient of these benefits ?
If you are neither on the agreement and not claiming benefit then you should be working, depending on your age, etc.
