    No, it would have probably been wood, but if they found and identified it, whenever, whoever, they would have preserved it somehow, possibly in gold sp it wouldn't be destroyed. Anything is just supposition, same as the shroud of Turin.

    Some guy in GB (near that church in the Da Vinci Code?) claims he has a chalice that came from inside a church cornerstone, and that it's the Holy Grail. It's made of stone and quite small. He claims the Knights Templar masons chose that cornerstone to hide it, blah blah...
    Who knows; no one ever will.

    No noone will because unless you possessed foresight there would be no need to preserve certain objects at the time. There were cults through the centuries who venerated relics, many of which were manufactured for the trade and others coming from macarbe sources
