I have never heard of that, not even as an 'old wives tale'. That is just so silly.
No, it is not true.
They can spread toxoplasmosis, typically it's outdoor cats that do this. The easiest way to keep your cat if you are pregnant is to have your husband clean the litter box as it's the feces that spreads this.
But, having a cat will not prevent pregnancy.
