Can I still get a lawyer if I owe back child support.. they get paid from the back pay from SSD.. Seems that the SSA would pay them there 25% or 6000.00 then give the rest to my kids..? Thanks in advance for the help.. thanks

Only your money can be garnished so only your share would be impacted. If you need a lawyer to get the funds they will get paid. The lawyer will also know how to manage the child support arrearage impact on your settlement. If they don't, get a better lawyer who does.

Thanks. I was told buy a lawyer they couldn't take my case because the child support would take all the money and they would not get paid.

Then, as DKN said, get a better lawyer.
