I was attempting to install a bidet to the toilet, where you attach a t connector at the flexible hose where the water supply comes in basically. Anyway I had my bathroom remodeled about 3 years ago and just now noticed the plumber used a solid pipe rather than a flexible hose from the water supply to the fill valve adapter to the tank. Of course I loosened the plastic bolts and since the tube is not flexible I am unsure of how to remove and install the flexible hose. Any assistance would be appreciated.

You will be best served here if you purchase a 3/8" compression x 9" or 12" flexible braided toilet supply (see image) and get rid of that solid tube. Here, to work with the solid tube you would need to go out and get parts anyway and working with the solid tube is much more complicated than working with the flexible braided hose, so as stated, purchase the flexible braided hose and the rest should go pretty easy!! You may also need to purchase a compression tee fitting, but read your instructions as it may not be needed or it may be included with your bidet kit.

I am sorry I wasn't clear with my question, I have the flexible tube already to replace the solid non-bendable tube. While I tried to remove the solid tube, I loosened both "bolts" at the top and bottom, however there is just no give since tube is solid. Do I need to lift the top of the tank up in order to remove this solid tube so I can replace then with the flexible line. I wanted to attach a photograph of the solid tube, however it doesn't appear I can attach an image.

The solid tube is easily bent. Just pull it up out of the stop valve or down out of the tank connection.

Thank you very much- I just wasn't sure about that solid pipe- and was concerned I would have a big mess.

Make sure that stop valve is turned off. Loosen the nuts at both the stop valve and the toilet tank. The nut at the tank should fall down. Grasp the tubing close to the tank and bend it to one side. You should then be able to pull the tubing out of the stop valve.
