I am currently an F1 student graduating on May 12th, 2014. I just got an offer to work as an independent consultant off campus. I am currently applying for the F1 OPT, but don't expect to receive the permit until 3 months from now. I wish to start working for this company under my CPT, which my university has agreed to support. I have three questions (1) Can I work as an independent contractor with my CPT work permit? (2) Can I aks my employer to draft two contracts, the first to work under my CPT and the second under my OPT? (3) My CPT will expire on May 12th, and so will my CPT. Is it possible to ask my employer to draft a contract until May 12th, but to have the date for the product delivery by post May 12th?
