    Conduit size
I'm running #4/0 Al wire from a 400 amp meter base to two individual 200 amp panels in the house. What size conduit do I need to house the wire from base to panels?

This may be an easy answer but, can you give me more details for instance, how far are you coming into the house from the meter? Does the meter have a service disconnect? Are you in a location that requires conduit? If not, why use conduit in lieu of cable?

Two inch conduit. Also, in most places PVC can't be used indoors (toxic fumes if burned).

Really? Got a code citation to back this up?

    Quote:

    352.10 Uses Permitted

The use of PVC conduit shall be permitted in accordance with 352.10(A) through (H).
    .....
    (A) Concealed.

PVC conduit shall be permitted in walls, floors, and ceilings.

Pretty hard to find walls, floors and ceilings outdoors.
