    Hi,

I have a Coleman Hot Water on demand which runs from a 6V battery, it goes flat too quick and whenever we go camping it never holds its charge. I want to run it from a 12V car battery, I have purchased a 12V - 6V converter but it says it is a 3A Max, the existing battery is a 6V 4.5A/20Hr, will this 3A converter be sufficient or will I have to purchase another one. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,
    Craig

Just curious, how old is this battery? The battery may be at its "End of life" and is no longer able to hold the charge.

I would consider replacing the existing battery with a new one before I struggle with re-designing the product and violating all of its warranties and safety guidelines.
