I have been charged with theft under 5000. The total came to 1000. This is my first charge but I have been arrested once before for the same crime but it was dropped and I wasn't charged. I have to get fingerprinted next week and I have court in may. I'm in dire need of advice and opinions on what the result will be.

1. Hire an attorney
2. do not confess or make any statement without talking to an attorney first
3. most likely probation and fine and repayment for theft.
