Hello-

I am having trouble getting my one bathroom sink to drain. I have tried everything I know to do. I have taken the trap off and cleared it, however, this did not solve the problem. Then I purchased a 25ft snake to do the trick. I removed the trap and put the snake to work. It went in the pipes( in the wall) 24 feet and then I pulled it out again. I did notice 2 very difficult spots to get through.. but got through. I did this process twice! Still my sink is slow to drain. I have looked at the main sewer line, and it is clear. Or at least I think it is clear since I flushed the toilet in the same bathroom and had no problems. I only have a small bathroom and house. I have one bathroom sink, one toilet, one tub, and one kitchen sink.

Help me please.. did I mention that the sink is a pedistal sink? Does that matter?

The two "difficult spots" were the elbo behind the stub-out and the spot where you should have stopped snaking. The drainage tee on the vertical vent stack. You did pull the stopper when you had the trap apart and checked for hair build-up on the rod didn't you? If you've snaked the line in the wall and found it clear the next step is to snake the lavatory drain line. This must be done from the lavatory roof vent. Now put out your 24 feet. Let me know how you make out.

Tom is right, check from the trap up to the drain stopper. I did a sink in the ladies' room at church. It had so much black junk packed in it there, I am surprised anything made it to the trap.

If not, up to the roof.
