    Rheumatoid arthritis or something else
I have rheumatoid arthritis and for a week now my right leg has had pain, numbness, and tight feeling. But there is a specific spot on the calf that is bothering me the most.there is pain when I press on it . My rheumy prescribed me methlyprednisolone and I have took it for 5 days already with flexeril as well as plaquenil but it has only gave me little relief. Im getting concerned that it could be something else like a blood clot. What would be the signs of a blood clot??

There are no apparent symptoms of a blood clot; explain this to your doctor and have him diagnose.

I don't have RA but 3 weeks ago got sudden pain in the front of my right leg (after 40 years of chronic pain in the left leg from pinched sacral nerves), and I had an ultrasound. No clots were found in the femoral and popliteal. I was told that that doesn't mean there aren't small clots in smaller vessels. But my right leg isn't bigger than the left.
One symptom of a clot is swelling in the leg that hurts. (No symptom is an absolute, of course - there are always exceptions.)

Its very dangerous to self diagnose any symptom, so don't go down that road, and stick with your physician, or get a second opinion. This is as likely a side effect of the prescribed anti inflammatory, or pain killers as anything, and so should be reported and documented. Did you read the rather extensive side effects disclaimer that comes with all prescription medicine now a days? It covers everything except hangnails.

Report what's happening to your physician is the bottom line.
