I think you can help me with Audacity software for editing.
I have a song that is about 5 minutes. I bring the line over to 30 seconds and use the scissors symbol to cut out all the song but 30 seconds. When I play it before closing it out it only plays to 30 seconds.
When I am about to file it away, A box pop up asking if I want to save it. I say yes, but when I open the song back up, it is not 30 seconds, but it is the original 5 minutes.
I downloaded Audacity about 3 weeks ago. How do I get the song to file away at 30 seconds.
Any help will be appreciated.

I haven't used audacity in quite a while. After you edit your song try selecting "save as" with a different name and see if that does it. Like songxyz.mp3 saved as songxyz2.mp3. Also remember there is a difference between a cut and a delete. If you delete all but 30sec its gone unless you select "undo".
