My son has been in jail for almost a year, he caught a drug charge and a probation violation, how long can they keep him in jail with out sentencing him on his probation violation or taking him to court on it ? I always thought they had a time limit on getting probation violations in court and sentenced on them,

What was the original sentence? The judge may not have given concurrent sentences and the probation violation will be addressed later. There was another charge too, or there wouldn't be probation violation.
