I have a 2001 XL1200C Sportster serial # reference portion 1HD1GCP1X1K. The problem I'm having is sometimes it will start, sometimes while ridding I'll hit a bump in the road and my gauges will die. I have cleaned and tightened the cables and changed the positive cable because if I take the battery out of the battery box and let it hang sometimes it will start with pressure on the positive cable. Now I am getting nothing at the switch and am at wits end I hope someone knows the fix. Thank you.

Found it the battery ground wire was broken at the frame mount, I saw a question asked by someone else, I answered it might be your ground wire then thought dummy why didn't I check that on my bike? Sure enough there it was. Question answered by me thank you me lol
