How can I find out if I have an inheritance in California?

Once an estate is probated the will does indeed become a public document. But you will not find it on line - you will need to request a copy from the San Diego Probate Office, see: Probate

Also, if you have an inheritance it is incumbent on the executor to contact any heirs. So if the will is filed for probate, you should be contacted.

You can contact the probate court, with the information once someone has filed a will with the court. Do you know when they died, and who is handling the estate
