    Broken Appliance
We rent a home in Central Texas the refrigerator that was in the home at the time we moved in is broken it came with the house but not in the agreement. We have advised the Land Lord but he says it is an amenitie. Are there any statutes or written laws that states the Land Lord is responsible for the repair. If we purchase another one, we are still obligated to keep the broken fridge as well as well the lndlord possibly later try to charge us for the broken appliance? How can a refrigerator that was left on the premises be the tenants responsibility. Please help

I rent some apartments with, some without

In the ones without, if they need one, I can furnish one for a fee added to the rent.

So what does your rental agreement say? If the fridge was the property of the previous tenant and was just left it may not be.

So my answer is without reading your rental agreement I can't tell you yes or no.
