    Pet urinating in sleep.
I have a 2 1/2 yr old German shepherd, hound mix. He has just recently started to urinate in his sleep, nearly every time he falls asleep. He is house broken, and should not be doing this. The only changes are he had an ear infection, and was put on an antibiotic. Also we got another German shepherd, female. But they get along just fine. What is wrong with my Zeus?

It could be an infection. Has the vet checked over the dog since the urinating started?

I'd take my dog in for an exam.

I'm at that point, because I cannot afford to replace all my furniture as a result of his excessive urinating. I. Don't believe it is a UTI because is is on an antibiotic. I'm worried about a possible tumor on or near his bladder.

Not all antibiotics work for all bacteria. He may have a UTI and the bacteria causing the UTI may be resistant to the antibiotic he is on.

Only your vet can tell you for sure.

Time to go back to the vet.
It could be infection. Yes, he is already on antibiotics, but some antibiotics don't work well for UTIs. Your best bet is to have the urine cultured so the vet knows which antibiotic to use and for how long.

If it is not an infection, incontinence in male dogs, while rare, is a possibility. You will need to speak to your vet.
