Have you tried to see if your wires for your stop lights have come loose.
Several thoughts:
. Test all under-dash and under-hood fuses with a test light or multimeter. Here's how:

. Check brake light switch adjustment.
. Remove the bulb, have someone depress the brake pedal, and check for voltage in the brake light connector using a test light. If there's no power, check for an "open" in the circuit.
Don't know what year truck it is, but a friend of mine had similar problem on '98 gmc and turned out to be ground wire coming from back of taillight housing-to-frame.
