    Metoprolol succinate vs metoprolol tartrate
Can I switch between the 2? Or should I wean myself of the Ms before starting the Mt? Both are 25mg, the Ms is once per day the Mt 2 times per day. I want to get off the Ms and start the Mt.

Call your prescribing doctor for the best instruction.

I take the succinate. The tartrate is an immediate-release and the succinate is extended-release. Yes, definitely, talk with your prescribing doctor about this. There IS a difference, and he knows your medical history. We don't. (And we don't prescribe.) And don't play games with weaning yourself off one in order to take the other.

Thank you both! Switch done from Ms to Mt, no weaning.
