How long until I pass my ETG test?
I am a 27 year old female, 155 lbs. I had 5 drinks on Friday night, and will best testing at 8:00 AM on Monday. I know my BAC was 0.00 as of 6:00 AM today (Saturday). Do you think I will pass and is there any method to help pass?

If you drink too much water you will fail for dilution.

J9, if I have been taking a multivitamin, a vitamin b supplement, and 6 creatine chews a day, do you think there's a good chance I can pass? Drinking about a gallon of water a day plus shots of apple cider vinegar every 12 hours.

Considering the normal recommended water intake is half of what you're ingestion you will probably fail for dilution. Along with testing for ETG the tests also identify other chemicals in the urine and when they come back highly diluted compared to normal urine you will fail. It isn't a fail because you've got a scaled abundance of the ETG in your urine, but because you're trying to cover something up. It is evidence of a guilty mind.

I would scale everything back to whatever you normally do and take your chances. If your ETG levels drop below the cut off then you'll be fine, but at least you won't fail for dilution.

CravenMorehead, what do you think about the below? I drank lots of water over the weekend, but stopped last night at around 8 PM. This morning before the test I drank three glasses of water between 5:30 AM and 7:30 AM so I would be able to pee for this test.

Urine specimens become dilute as a result of the short term consumption of large amounts of a liquid due to an unknown stimulus such as a response to heat or exercise, herbal flushes, prescription diuretics, intentional dilution, or pathological situations such as diabetes insipidus. The dilution effect from consuming increased volumes of liquid can last from 2 - 5 hours. Therefore, the increased consumption of liquid would have to take place between 2 - 5 hours prior to the collection of the urine specimens." Excessive consumption of water also causes other chemical imbalances in the blood... which takes a comparatively significant time to correct itself. All of which are indicative of an attempt to cheat on a test. Which they do look for.

Well I guess we'll see. My pee was very yellow this morning, but was pretty clear with a yellow tinge when I took the test. I am so nervous I never want to drink again after this experience. I am going to an AA meeting tomorrow and starting to put my life back together.

Use this as a learning experience... no matter what happens. If you get away this time... doesn't mean you will the next.

You really can't tell by looking at its color... there are certain foods you can injest that can significantly change its color... without changing its basic chemical content.

Eat a boatload of beets sometime... you'll see what I mean. Eat enough and it will look like you are passing blood.

    And?

The ETG will be filtered out of your blood stream at a known rate. Water is filtered out on a as needed rate. Drinking a buttload of water won't clear it out faster, but if you fall within that the time frame of the test then it will be diluted.

The thing to remember is that these tests were designed, developed, and have evolved by and through the efforts of people who are far smarter than you and me. They figure that someone has found a way around this and they'll find a way to detect that.

I see that you're making positive moves toward a sober life. This is good. Keep at it.

I passed my test! We actually calculated it and it was 8 standard drinks in 60.5 from last sip to test. Never again. Drinking is NEVER worth that amount of stress.

I just wanted to post my experience with an EtG test I recently took. I got completely wasted on a Thursday on spring break 20+ drinks. I drank all the way to Saturday night and stopped around 2am, again getting completely wasted with 20+ drinks throughout the day. I took an EtG test Wednesday at approximately 930 am. In between the time from my last drink and my test I worked out one day really hard and stayed very well hydrated with water and knocked it off Tuesday night about 12 midnight. Eating a light meal with coffee and minimal water. I passed my test! It was right at approximately 80 hours from my last drink to the time I went to the toilet. I hope this helps people in the future. It's really not worth it.
