We are replacing our bathtub with a shower. The shower drain hole is in the center, whereas the bathtub drain was at one end, we intend to use the same drain in the cement foundation, but we need to know how much of a drop that is needed from the new shower drain to the original drain. We are relocating the shower about four to five foot away from the
original drain and intend to use the cement 1/2 " 2 X 5 foot floor tiles to build up around the
drain pipe so that we do not have to break the cement foundation.
Can some one give us an estimate of how much drop we will need.

Maybe I'm not understanding this. You're on concrete and you want to move the shower 5 feet away from the current drain that is in the floor. You don't want to break up any concrete. I don't see how this can work. Your old drain hole is now in the open and there is no pipe connecting the new shower to the old drain. It would be sitting above the concrete. Did I misunderstand?

Drainge slope is 1/4" to the foot so five foot will give you a 1 1/4" drop. But wait! I might have something that will save youi a lot of labor and hassle.
They make a shower base that's made to replace a bathtub, (see image).
Click on; Shower Floor Pans
And scroll down to Alto#7515 and see a 32"W X 60"L shower base.
