Glacier bay shower diverter valve parts
I need to get hot water as the anti-scald assembly will not let enough hot water through; we have to turn the valve all the way to hot just to get luke warm shower, please tell me how to disconnect the anti-scald assembly. I have adjusted the temperature dial numerous times. We are tired of cool showers. Thanks

The temperature limiting device (TLD) is usually under the HANDLE of the valve. If it is not under the handle then it could be located on the valve body under the TRIM PLATE (remove trim to expose valve behind wall). If you remove the handle and find a bunch of geared plastic pieces STOP and reassemble the handle and get the proper instructions from the manufacturer of the valve...some of these are a bit complicated and easy to screw up.

Be warned, also, that if there are children in the house you cannot just remove the TLD...must set to a proper temperature NOT TO EXCEED 125F (plenty hot enough for any person AND code required in most states).

If you do not own the home/apartment, please do not touch this, but instead ask the landlord to make adjustments for you...it his his/her responsibility and liability, after all!!

    Good luck!
