What does an Ob/Gyn mean when saying viability/dating

I took at home pregnancy test. It was positive! I saw ob/gyn and heard her use the term viability/dating. Can you please tell me what this means to me personally other than reference code?

    Thank you

Viability refers to life and dating refers to either conception or delivery date. How far along are you?

Dating refers to conception and gestation, while viability refers to whether the fetus is able to survive outside of the womb.

Currently, the school of though is that a fetus is not viable outside of the womb until approximately 24 weeks gestation (this would deal with dating). At that point it would still be touch and go, with no promises of mental or physical deficits should the baby survive.
