want to answer a skill testing question ,and can't remember how after 60 years!(2x12)/4+10-6=
How do you start with it? Simplify the fraction first. Multiply the two numbers betwee the parenthases, divide that by 4, then take and add the result of 10 minus 6 to that.
The "trick" is to remember the proper order of operations:
1, Parentheses,
2, Exponents,
3. Multiply or divide,
4. Add or subtract.
or "PEMDAS:" for short.
Try it on your problem, then post back with the answer you get and we'll check it for you.
When you are done, you will be surprised! The answer is right in front of you!
