    Purging hot water systems
I have a water heater system that has 1-1/4" return line, that does not have a hose bib and shutt off valve to purge the system, was that a mistake? Should I install one?

    Hi Juan

    That depends...

If you have radiators or baseboard heaters that have individual vents that can be used to purge the air from the system then you are fine without the hose bib and shutoff. With that being said, I always install a hose bib and shutoff on all my return lines as it helps me to quickly purge the main lines (1.25") and then I do each radiator or baseboard individually, so up to you if you decide to or not!
