    Stupid.. I know... I can't find my letter of paid ss money to me for 2013
    Does the IRS get a copy of it or just put the numbers on the 1040... I know what the numbers are.. tks

    Contact the Social Security Administration and request another 1099-SSA.

    You don't need it... yes, they get it... I toss mine.. they don't get sent in with your tax return.

    What you say is true, but you want to be SURE that what you put on your tax return matches what the IRS gets on the Form 1099-SSA.

    That is why I told the OP to get another one.
