I WAS AWARDED SUPERVISED VISITATION TO MY GRANDAUGHTER BUT THE CASE WORKER FROM CPS SAid that my grandaughter couldn't come to my house due to the medication that I take and have taking since 2004. Even thou I keep all medication in my safe and locked.now the caregiver says she has to be there to supervise the visits.is this true ? R can I tell her to take her to sherriffs office are other places and drop her or does she really have to be there or can someone else be the supervisor of my visits with my grandaughter?

First, what state are you in? Second, does the court order specify a certain person/people that are to be there supervising? You can not tell her just to drop her somewhere. I'm sure you can arrange meeting places other than your house if you think that would help smooth things over for visitations. Maybe a park or other place the child likes going. Part of this will depend on how long each visit lasts. Being supervised, I would imagine it is only a couple hours at at time but could be wrong. There are only a handful of states that recognize grandparent rights (I happen to live in one). Go back and read the order from the judge and see what it says about the supervising party.

Supervised visits mean that someone has to be there. Each state and each court, or even each court order, sill say WHO has to supervise,

In Atlanta Ga, often there are specific centers where CPS do the visits.

But if CPS are in charge of the supervision, yes they can tell you where to meet and they will have to be there.

What I am missing is your happiness to see grad daughter, why does it matter if not in your home ?
