    True Heat Fireplace
I have a True Heat fireplace insert and there is a lever in the upper left side inside the insert that can be moved up and down. It seems to open and close something inside the insert, but I do not know what it's function could be. The fireplace has a blower system in it also.

    Respectfully,

Hi highlander and welcome, it sound like you're describing a damper, if this is a gas fireplace the damper needs to be in the fully open position. The link below has installation and operation directions. Good luck.

If it is on the left side, it is the fresh air inlet control to feed the firebox up is open down is closed... your damper is in the center left is open right is closed
