    Water from street to house
Do all houses have a water pump from the street to the house?

No... in fact I don't think any do. In cases with exceptionally low pressure a pump might be put in... but it would be located inside the house.

I'm assuming you have city water as you mention "from the street"....not a well.

That however is where most water meters are located.

I have never seen or heard of any. I have owned dozens of houses.

I had one house with low pressure from city, I put a tank with pump inside the house to provide better pressure.

Typical street pressure from the main is about 100-125 # or more depending on your distance from a water tank. It is reduced at the house by the PRV to about 50#. What prompted the question?

Where do you live and is this city water. I have a place where it is very hilly. Part of the association is near the top of a hill and a few homes are at the same elevation as the water tower, they require booster pumps.
