One of my friends set me up with this guy and we went out once. I thought it went pretty well even though we didn't talk much because we saw a movie. A few days after the date he told me that he wanted to get to know me better but right now he can't be in a serious relationship. I don't have his number but we're friends on Facebook so should I message him? If so, what should I say? I don't want him to think I'm trying to date him because obviously he's not ready for that. I just want to talk so we can become friends and eventually maybe date.

Dating and a relationship are two different things. Dating is just having fun getting to know each other. A relationship has rules and certain commitment.

Sounds to me like he's open to a no strings booty call situation... but not a steady girlfriend one.

You don't chase a guy who doesn't want to be caught, or have to wait for him to be ready for what you want. You have better options with other people for fun, and maybe romance.

I would just let it go. You may run into him, you can be friendly as you would be to anyone. I wouldn't go to any effort to reach out though... He has told you it's a dead end so believe him.
