    How to take power from a light fixture to run a plug that is always hot
    I want to take power from a light fixture to run a plug that is always hot. The power goes directly into the light it does not go to the switch first

    You are mot making sense. If the receptacle is always hot, why would you want to power it from the light fixture?

    OK, so you have a light fixture with a feed in the box and you want to run a receptacle off that.
