Any advise you can possibly give to me I have a serious situation going on: my house is only 5 years old and my Goodman Gas Furnace is not working properly. It has been working on and off since December 28, 2013. The first 3 years I never had any issues. Last year is when the problem started. Hitting the reset switch wasn’t fixing the issue without finding out what the problem is. I am now living with a heater. I’m a prisoner in my own new house. I can’t leave my dog without the heater on and it is a fire hazard to also keep it on that long. I am honestly running out of solutions. I’m on my 3rd company at least 7 technicians, my bill is running up and no one seems to understand why my heat works on and off? The flame sensor has been replaced and two switches, the air filter was changed, I called National Grid and confirmed that the gas pressure going into the house is sufficient. I’d also like to feel confident that my heat will not shut off. Any suggestions? I need a Goodman Gas Furnace expert that can come in analyse it and guarantee to fix it for a certain price. I can’t afford to keep on having parts changed that do not need to be changed and not have my heat fixed? Model# GMH950453BX, SERIAL# 0803073883

I'm not clear on what you are saying - you contacted them a while ago and no response, or..

As for your gas company, calling them isn't enough. Make them come out.

I did do both. National Grid came out it is not the pressure. I used a recommended Goodman tech as well.

Sorry joan, after 7 tech's looking at it, I don't think you'll find the answer online. What exactly is the furnace doing and what exactly has been done to fix it?

Meanwhile, get a dog crate big enough for the heater and put the heater in it when you go out. Make sure it is weighted down so that it can't budge even if bumped heavily by the dog.

Where are you and please tell us what the temperature of your house is, and what you set your thermostat for, and also the size of your home (sq. ft.) and what kind of structure it is. How long does the furnace actually run, and can you tell if heat comes out the vents? Is the bathroom cold too? Are there drafts and cold around the windows?

After 7 technicians I would be calling them back out to tell me why I spent a bunch of money and was freezing in my still brand new house.

I vote against the heater in the crate with the dog.
