How to get Black stain off engineered oak flooring

Lye blackens the wood grain. Other than possibly scraping and refinishing, not much else to do. If you have any pieces, a floor installer should be able to splice in a piece.

Yes, afraid so. I always take the racks out, spray in the bathtub and put in plastic garbage bags to set. Avoids some of the drip.

Now I have a completely self cleaning oven! So don't have to go through that mess anymore.

Why didn't you cover floor around oven with newspaper?
