Leaky Tub Spout With One-Ball Handle Control
I have two tubs with Delta one-ball handle controls.
Both of them leak out of the spout. When the showers are running the tub spouts stop leaking.
I found some sites that describe how to remove and repair the washers etc on the Handle, but is a spout drip caused by problems in the handle control or by something else?

    Thanks!

If after you take a shower the water is still dripping out of the spout after about five minutes the water is leaking through the valve that the handle turns on, you will need to replace the ball and the springs and washers that are inside the valve. Just follow the advice of the site that you have found.

Some spouts allow the water to drain out of a shower raiser after you shut the water off so it doesn't stay up there. However if it continues to leak follow letmetellus advice and change out the seats and springs,(#7 in the image). While you have the valve apart, turn the water back on for a minute to flush the supplies. Good luck, Tom
