Hi I am 23 years old, I was expecting my period on the 4th of jan.. After 7 days due I took a pregnancy and there was a very faint line so I waited 2 days and took a blood test, it came out negative.. Now I am 16 days due with my period, can I still be pregnant? And if not where is my period than?

Yes before I took the blood test (negative) I took a home pregnancy test and it came out with a very faint second line

Your period may just show up late this cycle or you may skip it altogether... it can happen, even if it hasn't before. It's also possible a pregnancy just didn't show up yet.

Maybe try another test in about a weeks time if still no period, or see what happens for February and test again if necessary.

HPTs are most accurate 14 days after your missed period. So I would take another HPT at this point. If it is still negative, then consult your OB/Gyn

A common problem with some tests is the faint positive. This occurs when there is bleed through from the control to the test area. The control is the detector with some hormone on it to prove that the dector is working. When you piss on it the urine will soak that and the test area. If you leave for long enough some of the excess hormone will bleed down to the test area giving a false positive. If you look at the instructions to the test it will usually say that the results will appear in XX minutes. Anything much after that is possible bleed through.

I would honestly put the positive there as a negative, but take another test really soon.
