When I first open up, windows live mail it will not receive or send messages while is downloading new messages. It will continue to do this until I stop it from searching. Then everything returns to normal. I did let it search for a full day, and all it did was come up with "failed". The search box has two tabs, Tasks and errors. Clicking the error tab, it shows over 100 errors, that all appear the same, like it's repeating it self.
Question: How do I correct my mail box to stop this searching.

PS daughter thinks deleting email from a remote Ipad is what is driving the desktop computer to try to download these Ipad deleted messages.

Why didn't you post the error codes? They could literally mean anything.
