The toilet water, after flushing, is orange-ish in color. I've flushed it a few times with the same result. (I haven't flushed any feminine products, so it's not that.) I wonder if there is some ground-seapedge somewhere along the pipes, that the rain has impacted?

Remove tank lid and see what color the water is in the tank.

My landlord just called and he thinks that it may be that the City is working on pipes in the area, and that the color is due to rust. Same color in washing machine and bathroom sink water, but both of those are slowly starting to clear up.
... just on edge since the whole spill in West Virginia...

Makes sense. The water in the tank comes from the water company. Not to be concerned about the West Virginia spill. Chemicals were colorless and odorless.

You are correct, my error. There was an odor to WV contamination.

What material are your water pipes? Copper, galvanized, or plastic? The orange color sounds like rust. Have you checked with your neighbors to see if they had the same problem? If they have then the color is from the city. If not, then is a local inhouse problem. Answer my questions and we will take it from there. Back to you, Tom

I don't know what material the pipes are, or whether my neighbors have the same issue... left messages w them.
Interestingly, I just noticed a city utility truck down the street, parked next to an open fire hydrant, and it has been raining a lot here lately, so maybe they are working on them.
