    For peace of mind
Hi, I'm currently pregnant and due March 1. My LMP was May 25th but my cycle was probably a bit irregular since I had recently gone off the pill in Feb. I was single when I conceived and had sex on 5/11 with Guy 1 and then I started sleeping with Guy 2 on 6/8. I had ultrasounds at 8, 9, 12, 18, and 28 weeks and all had a confirmed due date of March 1. I've read the early ultrasounds are super accurate, but is there any chance at all the baby could be Guy 1's?

There is no current medical technology that can predict the date of conception to less than a 4 week period. Meaning they make their best guess with a margin of error of plus and minus two weeks. Giving you the entire month it could have happened.

Thus you will have to have a DNA test done after the child's birth to determine who the fater actually is. And you do want to know because family medical history is very important to know. Not to mention having the correct person paying child support.

The dates are far enough apart, there is a almost no chance of being guy one.
BUT, that is almost. A very very slim chance of it for real peace of mind, make it a DNA test at birth just to be sure.

And Sarahj... in reference to the not helpful you wrongfully gave me... you picked out ONE website... most medical professionals will disagree with what they say.

There are no doctors on this site. There is an OB Nurse, but she'll tell you the same thing as we are. I am a programmer with a minor in biology, take it as you will.

If you didn't have a period between suitors then there is a chance it could be either. It could be either anyway because some women can have what seem to be menstrual periods while pregnant. Every fetus develops differently and yours could not fall within the proper size range for it's actual age.

There is no way to certainly say which one was the father. You will have to do a paternity test unless it is obvious who the father is.

LOL, it doesn't take a doctor to know that unprotected sex within a month with two different guys is a crap shoot as to which is the father. That does bring it's own dilemma and worry, but won't change the facts that can only be verified AFTER the birth. Anything else, even the doctors experienced trained opinion is just that, his opinion.

I know it's stressful just thinking of the implication of it not being the boyfriend's, traumatic even, and I am sorry for your confusion, but why argue with strangers many having dealt with this more than a few times? Waiting is the hard part and that's without extra confusion. So relax.

I will assume your boyfriend knows of the possibilities, NO?

I did have a period between suitors (noted in question). In question you previously answered for another user, you mention that implantation bleeding is actually pretty rare and spotting at best. So you're saying it's possible, but not likely.

I ended up asking an OB/GYN yesterday in addition to this thread and they confirmed an 8 week ultrasound is 3-5 days off in either direction, but no more. The likelihood of heavy implantation bleeding AND having a freak fetus 4 weeks smaller is extremely unlikely.

Thanks all for your help though.
