    Steaming toilet?
Hi my son just flushed the toilet and it made hissing sounds and appeared to have smoke or steam coming out!! I immediately turned water off at mains. Then turned water off at toilet valve. Dishwasher also on and air con (evaporated) but not excessive use. Turned water back on about 10 minutes later toilet seems OK but bit black... almost like it's burned.

    Any ideas?? I can't aford a plumber...

Thanks so much for any advice.

I assume that means a spray of water (which could look like steam) came out from under the tank lid.

Remove the tank lid. You should see a small black, plastic tube that should be connected to the fill valve and the overflow tube. One end or the other of that tube has come loose. Put it back in place.
