    Am I pregnant?
I had unprotected sex on the 9th of December, then I took 8 birth control pills the next day (4 pills a time, 12 hours apart) instead of emergency contraceptive which wasn't available then. I got my period exactly a week later (on the 16th of december) it was of regular flow and lasted for about 7 days. (I don't know if I should confuse that with implantation bleeding orrr). Anyway I took a home pregnancy test on the 11th of January and I got a negative result. I've been feeling a bit tired recently and I'm a bit worried, my period is supposed to come in those coming few days but I'm still a bit nervous, and id like to know the possibility of me being pregnant. Thank you :) x

Any time there is penile insertion there is the possibility of pregnancy. However, since you have had a normal period since your sexual encounter, the likelihood of pregnancy is small.

Why not a plan B pill?

After having unprotected sex many women get a suspect of getting pregnant. However if the test is negative then there is no point of worrying, but still visit your nearest gynecologist.

Actually, you're wrong. Many women don't get a positive result until well into their second trimester. Some women never get a positive with a home pregnancy test. False negatives are very common. A negative test, especially taken too soon (which the OP did) does not mean you're not pregnant.

False negatives are very common, so this does not mean you are not pregnant. Normal birth control pills are not emergancy birth control like Plan B or others. So it is doubtful they did any good. It sounds like a regular period, but it is hard to say. Best to wait till next month and see if you get a period then,

Plan b isn't available in the country I live in.
And is taking the home pregnancy test more than 4 weeks after my last unprotected sex encounter too soon?

Best just to see if you get the next months period, it is all guesses, but my guess, not pregnant, since you had a period.

The time to take a test is 2 weeks after you missed a period. So yes, taking it 4 weeks after a sexual encounter is probably 2 soon, unless you missed your period 2 weeks after the sex.
