You were "surprised" with a test, huh? Somehow, I can't believe that it was a surprise. I mean, I bet you are on probation so you should be aware that they can test you at any time....no surprises.

At any rate, you will probably pass this time but if you keep this up, eventually you will get caught.

70 hours is close but should be enough time in this case.
If you pass this one, learn from it and finish your probation without taking any chances.

Please be patient. All members here are volunteers and take time out of their busy day to answer questions. When someone comes online who may know the answer to your question, they will respond.

With the that said, the best help you could receive would actually be no help at all. It would teach you best to let you stress out until you get the results of your test back, thus preventing you from making the same mistake in the future.

To add, you were not surprised with this test. Under the terms of your probation you knew you would be tested, you just didn't know exactly when. This is done purposely to prevent a probationer from drinking. You didn't follow the terms if your probation. There are always consequences for your actions.

If you research this site, you will find that people in a similar situation have passed, but you are cutting it too close for comfort.

The thing about ETG testing is that there is no way to know who will pass or who will fail. There have been people that got tested after heavy drinking only 18 hours later, and passed. There are people that got tested after having one beer, 5 days later, and failed.

Even experts on the subject, people working in the field, don't agree on a safe period. Some say 80 hours, others say 5 days.

At 70 hours there is the chance that you'll fail. Most experts agree the minimum cutoff is 80 hours. Sadly, no one can tell you what will happen, not even a scientist, not even Dr. Bill. It's a wait and see situation, much like pregnancy.

The only way to make sure you pass an ETG test is to avoid alcohol, especially when you're on probation and that's a term of your probation.

    Good luck.
