I am in the DC area. The temperature outside is 13 degrees. Last night it went down to 5 degrees and is expected to get no higher than 18 degrees today. I want to know if it is safe to use my washing machine, or is there danger of water freezing in the pipes, causing other problems, if I wash clothes now.

Do you have hot and cold water throughout your house now? If so it's safe to use any faucet or your washer. Do you think you have frozen pipes? Back to you, Tom
