We own house in fl. We were here towards end of Nov and shower had hot water. Now we came in Jan and no hot water to shower but to both sinks in master bath. The shower handle is a moen. We have taken face plate off and cannot turn the right side screw( which we assume is the cold water nad have turned the left screw to the left. Still no hot water. Any Ideas!!

Unfortunately, you'll need to remove the cartridge assembly and replace it as it is probably seized up from sitting dormant for so long...simply happens sometimes is all. If you are so inclined, you could also try removing the cartridge and soak it in CLR (calcium/lime/rust remover) for an hour...see if that loosens the mineral deposits.

If that fails (or you don't want to do that), contact moen at 1800BUYMOEN and e-mail them a picture of your shower valve and they will probably send out a FREE replacement cartridge as all moen valves have a lifetime parts warranty (shipping is free, too...if you can wait a week or so)!!
